It was a well designed hotel and did not cost alot. The staff was very friendly. I did not have the time though to eat in the restaurant though it seemed nice from the outside. Would defenitely go back to the hotel when i visit Castelnaudary again.

I absolutely adored the charming and cozy decoration of Hotel Restaurant De France. The vintage furniture and warm color schemes created a welcoming ambiance for seniors like myself. The general areas were well-maintained and clean, making it a comfortable environment to relax in. I also appreciated the hotel's accessibility for senior people, as there were no stairs to climb and the rooms were conveniently located on the ground floor.
I would have preferred if the children working there had been more attentive to the needs of senior guests.

We had to wait for a long time to check in because the restaurant was very busy and the staff all occupied.
Long way from the train station when the taxi does not arrive and we had many cases.

The location in the town is excellent as a base for exploring. Although we did not try the restaurant we were given a recommendation for it from a local resident and that is surely a good indicator of quality.
Lugging two large suitcases up the stairs is not a lot of fun.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Castelnaudary. The location was perfect, as it was so close to markets and restaurants. The hotel had a secure parking facility, which was great for me as I arrived by bike. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also really good.
No complaints.

Come to this hotel if you want the best cassolet. The hotel itself is very tired and worn, although it's in a great location and the staff could not be more friendly. Would go back.
The hotel is very two star - in that it's decor and interior is shabby and warn. That said, everything is clean and the staff are great. And the restaurant is worth the stay at the hotel.

Cheap, close to the centre.
Room was tiny, and not that pretty. Ditto for the ensuite. Did not want to even step in the shower, as it looked so grotty. But all I needed was somewhere cheap to stay in Montpellier, so it was fine for that/

The regional cuisine served at the hotel restaurant was excellent, offering a true taste of the local flavors. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel's location was also a key advantage, being conveniently situated near various attractions and amenities.
The room I stayed in could use some updating. The furniture seemed quite dated and the shower was on the smaller side.

Location to Le Boat basin useful, within walking distance of train station, helpful staff and good restaurant at the hotel which we were very glad of, having arrived early evening.
although bedroom was comfortable and bathroom clean with comforts provided, it was dark, overlooking back of hotel, net curtains needed a good wash, and room was a bit gloomy, but as a one night stop over, it gave us all we needed.

I got great value for my money at Hotel Restaurant De France in Castelnaudary. The room was comfortable with a clean bathroom, and the staff treated me with kindness and warmth. The location was convenient, close to amenities and the beautiful Canal du Midi.
For breakfast delights, it would have been nice to have a hair dryer available.
